Guess what?!?!?!

I'm going to be an aunt.

I am so very very excited.

Now if there was just some way to tie them up and ship them here forever, it would be perfect.

I mean what could be better but 5 built in babysitters??? And by the time the baby is older the cousins will be old enough to babysit.

Jonathan and Melanie. I am so very happy for you.

They could have date nights whenever they wanted!!!!

Lessons from the kitchen

This year has been SO much smoother in the kitchen then last year. My helper Alyssa and I have actually been amazed by it. We pretty much have how we like to do things down to our own little time line.

I am so thankful for someone that I am able to work so well with.

So here goes another year in

Lessons from the kitchen......

Lesson 101~ Roaster pans, especially when just turned off WILL jump out and burn you when you least expect it.

So will oven doors......

Lesson 102 ~ When trying to do dishes with said burn, your finger or arm, or whatever you burnt will hurt even more when you put it in the hot soapy dish water.

Lesson 103 ~ Be thankful for your co-worker who will step in and take over the dishes (especially after burning your finger) and let you dry the rest of the day.

Lesson 104 ~ Hamburger, especially after freezing and then having it thaw in the fridge WILL somehow drip blood everywhere. It is gross. Really, really gross.

And yes, you must clean it up.

Lesson 105 ~ Kids are never full.

Lesson 106 ~ Kids dig chocolate milk WAY better then any other kind of milk.

Lesson 107 ~ Said kids will not even notice when you switch there milk to 1%.

Lesson 108 ~ After waiting all day for you milk to be delivered....... it's best not to shout......my milk came in....... especially in a kitchen full of woman.

Lesson 109 ~ I never ever thought I would actually have to write this one but here goes.......when doing dishes it is best to GET A CLEAN RAG out of the drawer. Not pull a dishcloth from the laundry basket under the sink. Even if it makes more laundry for me, I would rather you wash dishes with a clean dishcloth then the dirty ones from the laundry basket.

Seriously.

Lesson 110 ~ Fresh cut lemons not only taste fantastic in your water, but they make the kitchen smell nice and clean.

Lesson 111 ~ This is more of a statement and not a lesson......but I H.A.T.E. flies. They are dirty, disgusting, annoying pests. They make me think my kitchen is dirty. And if I see a fly on food I will throw it out. The end.

Lesson 112 ~ Sweet Italian Cream coffee creamer is really the best thing since sliced bread and the teacher's appreciate it being on hand. And so do I.

Lesson 113 ~ 20 # of hamburger isn't enough for meatloaf. I learned this the hard way. But thankfully the high schoolers were happy with pizza as a substitute.

Lesson 114 ~ It's really nice to hear that the "cooker" was missed, when I was gone for a day.

Lesson 115 ~ Kids will order the meal just to get the dessert.

Lesson 116 ~ Ignore those people who make stupid comments. Sometimes they don't know the whole story.

Lesson 117 ~ You really do need a computer. That's all I will say about that one.

Lesson 118 ~ Warm Brownies and snicker doodle cookies make everything better.

Lesson 119 ~ It is best to have your exhaust working when using the griddle. Otherwise a preschooler might tell you that you smell like chuck e cheese.

Lesson 120 ~ It is fun to look for little ways to be an encouragement to other people. Pray that the Lord will open your eyes to the needs of others.

Lesson 121 ~ There will be that 1 person who you really just can't stand the very site of. I know that sounds really bad to even admit, but it helps you be kind when you keep the words undconditional love running through your mind the whole time they are around you. It really does help.

I mean who do I think I am anyway?!?!

Dada loves to play with my hair. She told me that she likes it long and that I should never get it cut!! Little does she know that my hair is driving me bonkers and I am really fighting the urge to get it all cut off!!!!

But that didn't stop us from playing today.

She decided that I needed my hair braided.

But she didn't want to take a picture!! ;)

Then it was her turn to sign in to get her hair done.

And she decided she didn't need a cut and color, she just wanted some french braids. Which is very hard to do on hair that short!!!

But we did it.

And we had fun doing it!!!

A pleasant surprise

Another reason why I love working at school......

I got this note on my desk from a little girl in Dada's class.....

(I tried twice to flip this picture and it just won't do it....so I apologize)

That little note made my day.

Brother's Bday parties

This past weekend was Brother's 8th bday party. 8 years, I still can't believe it.....

I don't think Brother could contain himself with the excitement of his party. (Me....oh, trust me, I could contain myself!!! )

Brother requested pizza for dinner.....how easy could that be?!?

So pizza it was.....

Daddy had to work Friday night, but was able to sneak away during his dinner break to spend some time with us.

He met us at the park where the boys were playing football.

What better way to get some energy out then running around for 45 minutes!!

After the park, we came home and while I was getting the cake ready, the boys decided they need to have a fashion show!

And what accessory is most important at a fashion show.....why a gun of course!!

Finally it was cake and ice cream time!!

And then time to open presents......

He was quite excited to open his very own firecrackers. Which I promptly put up for when Daddy was home and able to do them!! Can you tell how happy he was?!?!

The boys thankfully went to bed easy for me...well after 3 of them decided they needed to go home at 11:30 b/c they missed their moms.

Saturday came and we had to get ready for the family party. I was starting to make Brother's cakes when Dada walked in and literally BEGGED me to let her do it.

So I let her. And I must say that she did a FANTASTIC job!!

Brother was very excited to open his presents at the party later that night and get the 1 thing he has been dreaming about!!!!

Maybe Hunny and I can get out tv back now!! :)

Happy Birthday Brother.....I hope you had a great time at your party. Love yah lots!!!

Happy Bday Brother!

Today is Brother's 8th bday. He has been waiting for this day for quite a long time now!!

He has a slumber party Friday night with his family party on Saturday night. To say he is stoked is an understatement. If you think about it, say a quick work of prayer for this poor mama. I will be hosting the slumber party by myself as Daddy will be at work! :( 6 boys!!! Hopefully they won't tie me up in a chair or something!! ;)

I let him pick out any treat that he wanted to share with his friends at school. I have to say that I just love my son......he chose Popsicles. Bless his heart. I didn't have to slave away all night making cupcakes or cookies. I do love that kid!

(right after this picture was taken, I kissed him on the cheek and a little girl in 1st grade, Isabelle was standing in the doorway of the kitchen watching us. And when she saw that I kissed him, she just giggled and giggled and giggled. It was really cute!! )

(notice Brother's shirt?? Nope........ he hasn't learned the art of eating and STILL gets food all over the place when he eats. Maybe by the time he's 9 right!?!?)

Brother was able to pick out some action figure Popsicles. I think the kids in his class thought they were pretty cool as well. Even the teachers enjoyed them! The rice krispie treat was the dessert at school today! What better way to celebrate your bday then rice krispie treats and Popsicles!!

My dear Son....I love you so very much. You make me proud, you make me laugh, you can also make me very crazy. But most of all, you make my heart leap with joy. In the 8 yrs you have been in our family, you have brought so much JoY to our life. I thank God for giving you to me.
