This year has been SO much smoother in the kitchen then last year. My helper Alyssa and I have actually been amazed by it. We pretty much have how we like to do things down to our own little time line.
I am so thankful for someone that I am able to work so well with.
So here goes another year in
Lessons from the kitchen......
Lesson 101~ Roaster pans, especially when just turned off WILL jump out and burn you when you least expect it.
So will oven doors......
Lesson 102 ~ When trying to do dishes with said burn, your finger or arm, or whatever you burnt will hurt even more when you put it in the hot soapy dish water.
Lesson 103 ~ Be thankful for your co-worker who will step in and take over the dishes (especially after burning your finger) and let you dry the rest of the day.
Lesson 104 ~ Hamburger, especially after freezing and then having it thaw in the fridge WILL somehow drip blood everywhere. It is gross. Really, really gross.
And yes, you must clean it up.
Lesson 105 ~ Kids are never full.
Lesson 106 ~ Kids dig chocolate milk WAY better then any other kind of milk.
Lesson 107 ~ Said kids will not even notice when you switch there milk to 1%.
Lesson 108 ~ After waiting all day for you milk to be delivered....... it's best not to shout......my milk came in....... especially in a kitchen full of woman.
Lesson 109 ~ I never ever thought I would actually have to write this one but here goes.......when doing dishes it is best to GET A CLEAN RAG out of the drawer. Not pull a dishcloth from the laundry basket under the sink. Even if it makes more laundry for me, I would rather you wash dishes with a clean dishcloth then the dirty ones from the laundry basket.
Seriously.
Lesson 110 ~ Fresh cut lemons not only taste fantastic in your water, but they make the kitchen smell nice and clean.
Lesson 111 ~ This is more of a statement and not a lesson......but I H.A.T.E. flies. They are dirty, disgusting, annoying pests. They make me think my kitchen is dirty. And if I see a fly on food I will throw it out. The end.
Lesson 112 ~ Sweet Italian Cream coffee creamer is really the best thing since sliced bread and the teacher's appreciate it being on hand. And so do I.
Lesson 113 ~ 20 # of hamburger isn't enough for meatloaf. I learned this the hard way. But thankfully the high schoolers were happy with pizza as a substitute.
Lesson 114 ~ It's really nice to hear that the "cooker" was missed, when I was gone for a day.
Lesson 115 ~ Kids will order the meal just to get the dessert.
Lesson 116 ~ Ignore those people who make stupid comments. Sometimes they don't know the whole story.
Lesson 117 ~ You really do need a computer. That's all I will say about that one.
Lesson 118 ~ Warm Brownies and snicker doodle cookies make everything better.
Lesson 119 ~ It is best to have your exhaust working when using the griddle. Otherwise a preschooler might tell you that you smell like chuck e cheese.
Lesson 120 ~ It is fun to look for little ways to be an encouragement to other people. Pray that the Lord will open your eyes to the needs of others.
Lesson 121 ~ There will be that 1 person who you really just can't stand the very site of. I know that sounds really bad to even admit, but it helps you be kind when you keep the words undconditional love running through your mind the whole time they are around you. It really does help.
I mean who do I think I am anyway?!?!
