Things I LoVe

The Lily of the Valley is blooming in all it's glory right now. And I do have to say, that it is a most wonderful smell coming through my screen door. I just had to pick some to put on the table. They bring a smile to my face just looking at them!!

The card I got in the mail yesterday from my Grandma. She is such an amazing person. I loved the card and the words she wrote in it.

In the top picture, do you notice the little light in the window?? I love having those little lights in the window. They give off such a nice light at night. I think they help make the house look so homey also!! Well the night of my Pampered Chef party, Tammy noticed that the lights I was using were snow men. I wasn't about to take them down, since I loved them so much. Tuesday night, she gave me 2 of these little lights. I LOVE THEM!!!!

Does Jesus Care?? Oh, yes he cares.

This week, we have walked through fire. I don't want to go into detail, but we have had a pretty heavy load to carry this week.

I knew that there was nothing I could do or say to take this problem away, we just had to pray. So on my knees I went. God was the only one who could provide.

How many times have you sat, completely helpless, completely broken, completely and utterly emotionally spent? It's not a fun place to be. I was there.

I have been praying that God would really work on my heart, that he would mold me and make me into what he wants. Well......be careful what you pray for. :)

God is working. I can feel his hands molding and shaping me into what he wants be to me. It isn't an easy thing to go through. It's emotional....I have never cried this much. I keep saying......I'm not a crier!! Yet, there I sit, bawling like a baby. I guess I would rather be emotional and be in God's hands, then in charge of my emotions and walking alone. It's also humbling. To know that you have no answer to give, no end in sight. To know that you need help, to know that you need.

2 Corinthians 9:15~Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift

Last night, we had a resolution to our problem. To those involved. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. Thank you. We were given another UnSpEaKabLe GiFt.

1 Peter 5:7"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

2 Cor, 6:10 ~ As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

I read this verse this morning. And although things seemed so dark, and so hard. I still have something to rejoice about. I have God on my side, and with him all things are possible. Even those things that we think that there is no hope in. Hard things happen in our lives to strengthen us, to grow us. I pray for a receptive heart, and a heart that will learn from it.

Last night at church, we sang the song Does Jesus care. I lost it. All I could do was sit and let the words wash over my soul. Hunny saw that I was upset, and just sat there with his arm around me, comforting me.

Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth or song,
As the burdens press, and the cares distress
And the way grows weary and long?

Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

Does Jesus care when my way is dark
With a nameless dread and fear?
As the daylight fades into deep night shades,
Does He care enough to be near?

Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

Does Jesus care when I've tried and failed
To resist some temptation strong;
When for my deep grief there is no relief,
Though my tears flow all the night long?

Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

Does Jesus care when I've said "goodbye"
To the dearest on earth to me,
And my sad heart aches till it nearly breaks,
Is it aught to Him? Does He see?

Oh yes, He cares, I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Savior cares.

Ephesians 3:20 ~ Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

What an amazing verse. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Exceeding Abundantly above all that we can even THINK!!!

I hesitated to even post this. To be so open with this. But I decided to post this. Because this blog is for me. It's for me to look back on and remember my life. This is part of my life, and I want to remember what God has done for us. I want you to know that he loves you, and he wants only the best for you. And yes, he cares for you as well.

Thanks be to God for his UnSpEaKaBLe gifts

2 Corinthians 9:15~Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

I sit here tonight a different person then I was 6 months ago. November 7th, the night of that terrible accident changed me. If you would have asked me 3 months ago if the accident changed me, I would have denied it to my death. But now, I can accept it. How could I not go through the accident and all the strain and stress that we have gone through since the accident and not come out different.

I can honestly say that I am thankful for the accident. As hard as it was and is to go through, there have been good things to come out of it. The thing I am most thankful for is my continual daily walk and dependence upon Christ for all that I am.

I will admit that I was and still am struggling with the whole being without my van. I loved and miss my van. Today in my Bible reading, 2 Cor 4:18 says~while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

That van is temporal, it's a thing. We all survived that accident. We are all healed and healthy. The spiritual growth that has come from the accident is eternal. I have been able to share with so many people all the good that God has done for our lives and continues to do in our life because of that accident. That is eternal. That is what this whole thing is about.

Verse 17 of that same chapter says ~ For our light affliction which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

That night is so long ago, and while we are still feeling the effects of that night, it is still just a moment in time. But it is working an eternal weight.

God does things in his time. I cannot forget that. We have been borrowing my boss's car. They had an extra car just laying around, and they offered it to us. Their daughter is in college and they didn't need it until she came back for the summer.

Hunny is still layed off, and there just isn't extra money laying around. So our truck has sat all winter with no money to fix it. Last week our Pastor called and said that money came in to help fix our truck. He asked how much we needed and had a check waiting for us on Sunday.

God does things in his time. My boss's daughter will be home next week. We were going to have to give the car back.

Hunny ordered the part and it came in today. With a little help from Joy's boyfriend Andrew, (THANK YOU ANDREW!!!) Our truck still sits in the garage, but tonight it works!!!

I am overwhelmed.

Dada went to the Doctor today for an xray to see how her pelvis is healing. His unspeakable gift is that she is completely healed. The Doctor couldn't even tell where it was broken! Don't we serve and amazing GOD!!!

I am learning that God's ways are not our ways. I would have written a completely different ending to this saga. One that would have ended 5 and 1/2 months ago and would have included all medical bills paid, a brand new van, and the lady in prison. But my way wouldn't have included the lessons in waiting and trusting, and falling on my knees before God. My ways are not God's ways. God's ways are for my betterment.

I love these verses in Jeremiah 29

29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find [me],
when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

29:14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

No, my ways are not God's ways, but his ways are best and in that I am, and have to continue to rest.

My prayer is that God will continue to lead in our lives. I pray that we continue to rest in him. Hunny still needs a job. Thankfully Hunny is able to work with Kevin some days, and that helps so much! But please pray that a permanent job will open soon. We have some needs in our life that are weighting heavy on our hearts.

James 5:16a ~ The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

I am so thankful that even through all this, I have hope in Christ.

An afternoon of playing in the dirt!

This was Dada on her way into school this morning. I thought it was pretty cute. She looked like a little mother today. I love the necklace and her little purse.

I'm glad that I took the time to dig for my camera today. I love this picture!!

Beth and I were able to work a little in the garden today. We wanted to get some cool season veggies in. I know, I know, we should have done this a couple weeks ago, what can I tell yah, we are busy!! :) We met at a local green house, and picked out the perfect seeds! We got sugar snap peas and green leaf lettuce. We also bought broccoli plants, and some onion bulbs. We only had the 3 younger ones since school is still in session.

We got most of the tilling done today.

We got our peas, lettuce and broccoli planted. I had to wait on Tancy for the onions. She is pretty particular about where she wants things planted! :)

The kids just played while we worked. It was a gorgeous day today!! There is rain in the for cast for this week, so I knew we better take advantage of the day while we had it.

Tancy finally got home from school and approved the progress that we made. Although she did text me on her way home and told me how scared she was about what it would look like......oh ye of little faith!! Look what she found when she got home!! Thankfully this time it wasn't on the end of a pitchfork!

My 1st Pedicure

Sat morning, my friend Heather picked me up so we could go shopping for a baby gift for Emily. On the way to Target, she surprised me by telling me that we had a 3:30 appointment for a pedicure!! Her birthday is on Wed, and Kevin had asked what she wanted for her bday, and she told him all that she wanted was a pedicure, and that she wanted to take me! Can you believe it?!

I have NEVER had a pedicure in my life, so to say that I was totally suprised and elated is an understatement.

I think that my joy comes not only in her thoughtfullness, but more in the fact that I really needed this. This week, I have had a rougher week emotionally.
On our hike on Monday, I took this picture. It was hard for me to look at b/c I felt like I didn't belong in the picture. Like I didn't belong in my family. Not because of anything they have done or said, but because I don't feel like I deserve such a wonderful family. I don't deserve these great kids, and such a wonderful husband. I was feeling fat and very unpretty. I got lost in my own thoughts and my own insecurities.

I can barely put into words what that pedicure meant and did for me. I felt loved and that someone cared for me. They took the time and money, and spent it purposely on me. Hunny knew all about it, Heather had been planning this for a couple weeks. I am overwhelmed. I was brought to tears last night thinking about the day.

There is a song called You are Good, by Point of Grace (playing first on my playlist,) It talks about God being good through many different parts of our lives, the good and the bad. In it there is a line in the song that says......when someone's hand holds me up helps me stand, You are so good.
She did that for me yesterday, she held me up and helped me to stand again.

The amazing thing is that all these thoughts and feelings were unspoken thoughts and feelings. Heather answered a prayer that wasn't even spoken. So Heather, thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

A night with the Wolfe's

Friday night we were once again able to get together with the Wolf'es. Dada has so been looking forward to this all week, and when she found out that she was even able to spend the night, she was even more elated!! I'm telling you, she could barely contain herself.
After dinner, we went on a walk. It was a little chilly, but it was so nice to take a walk around their beautiful property.

The girls instantly grasped arms and took off down the path. (Sorry this is so blurry, but it's the only 1 I was able to get.)

We walked down to a field where Aaron had gotten his truck stuck. He had gotten the urge to go hunting a couple nights before, not thinking about all the rain we had gotten. While he was pretty upset with himself, Lorrie and I had to walk down through the mud to see how bad it was stuck.

The kids so enjoyed the walk.

On the way back, the girls just looked so cute. They had their arms locked, heads together sharing deep secrets with each other.

We had a lovely evening. We already have plans to get together again in the coming month!

A bouquet of flowers PART 2

Tonight I went to a Pampered Chef party in support of 1 of my friends Micaela. When I got home, this was waiting for me on the counter! One of my favorite flowers is the tulip.

The thought touched my heart, and I am so thankful for her kindness to me.

2 Cor 9:6 immediately came to my mind ~ But this I say, he which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly, and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

This verse is coming true in almost every aspect of my life.

Galatians 6:7b ~ for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Prov 18:24a ~ a man that hath friends must shew himself friendly,

I have been blessed with some great friends. Thank you for this kind gesture tonight!! :)
