The sleepover of the century!!

Last weekend, some of my friends and I had....what THEY refer to the slumber party of the century!!!

We did have a blast!

We stayed up way to late.

Ate way to much junk food.

Some on us, even rode the short bus.

(But not to Wal-mart to get hair dye.)

We played board games till our rear ends couldn't take the hard bench anymore.

And laughed till our insides hurt.

What could be better then that??

Well....besides Bananagrams of course!

All I have to say about that retarded game is.....I told you so.

Some of us may or may not have colored our hair.

The girls could hardly contain themselves.

They didn't fall asleep until after 1. With only a LITTLE "motivation" from the Mommy's

We just had an all around great time.

And Aaron should be happy, he didn't have to bail Lorrie out of jail!!

I can't wait to do it again next year!!

Summer Camp, Summer Camp.......

Today, I sent my baby girl off to camp.

For a whole week.

Without me.

I thought that I would be ok with it. But as I was helping the girls set up their beds, I was fighting back tears.

I was very happy, that their were no tears on the girls behalf.

Their were definitely not tears, just pure excitement for Dada, and only a little worry for Elisa.
Elisa was hiding it well though.

I think she felt better after her bed was made up, and her things put away.

Her mom left little notes hidden all in her suitcase, and I think that Elisa really liked that. She found one, but thought that she would read it later.

After their things were settled, they went on a tour of the camp. I think they like the lake the best.

They were resting after walking around trying to find Kayla.

Brother had to get a little snack from the snack shop.

He says that he can't wait to go to camp!

Kayla was going to be in their cabin, but ended up being with her church group. They are even on opposite teams!!

As Brother and I were leaving, the girls were already having a team meeting.

Keep Dada (and Mommy) in your prayers this week. I am worried about her diabetes. I have talked to the doctor and the nurse on staff and feel comfortable leaving her in their care. It's just hard to not be their and see with my own 2 eyes that she is REALLY doing ok. :)

Dada has her night all planned out.

What an emotional week we have had here. I have had my ups and downs and my moments of strength and moments of doubt. I am thankful for good friends who have listening ears and prayerful hearts.

I am happy to report that I can say.......And then God. Our immediate need as been met, and I know that he will take care of the other pressing things that we have.

He has even opened a door for me that I had thought closed. And then God.

It is really neat to see how God meets those needs we have when we think there won't be a way out.

Oh what an awesome God we serve.

I think I am a little overwhelmed at his goodness to me and my family. Don't ever doubt that he will meet your needs.
Tonight we are having a Mommy/Daughter slumber party.

We have had this planned for about a month now, and the excitement has been building for it.

Dada is on the verge of insanity.

She even cleaned AND rearranged her room WITHOUT being asked. I was stunned.

I started making some treats and guess who walks into the kitchen wanting to help? Yep. Dada.

She couldn't wait to help me make a pie.

I had her peal the apples. She couldn't quite get the technique and wondered how I could do it so fast and good. She was really impressed that I could peal the whole apple without stopping, making it into 1 long apple strip.

I told her that I remember thinking that of my mom when I was standing there on a stool watching her.

She did a good job. The apples were a little dented and bruised from her dropping them, but I enjoyed our time together.

I was very sad to see that my Pampered Chef pastry mat has a big tear in it. I have come to love and depend on this pastry mat. It is a wonderful tool. I was sad to see the tear.

Things I LoVe!

I have a "new" obsession.

It's cornbread.

I made some the other day with this pasta dish which wasn't that great, but it was something to fix with stuff I had in the cub board. (Come on who hasn't been there?!)

Anyway, maybe it was that the pasta dish wasn't really that great, or it was just that the corn bread was really quite good.

Either way, I loved it!!

BTW, Dada didn't like the pasta dish either. She said it was gross cuz it had REAL tomatoes in it. Poor child. What am I doing to her?!?! ;)

Isaiah 44: 2-3
2 This is what the LORD says— he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
3 For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.

Isaiah 46:3-4
3 "Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all you who remain of the house of Israel, you whom I have upheld since you were conceived, and have carried since your birth.
4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

What a promise given to me this morning.
