Our Puppy

Today is a sad day. I knew that this would be hard for me, and I am really dreading today. Today, my puppy (Cupcake) is getting fixed. I know that this needs to be done. We do not want more puppies. And I know that there are health reasons in getting them fixed. But I have fallen so much in love w/ this dog, it is unreal. I have never had a dog before, and I was worried that once we got a dog, the newness would wear off quick and I would resent getting her. But that has not been the case. I have never regretted getting her. She has been a joy to our family, and a very welcome addition. So to know that she is scared and going to be hurt and in pain, really tears at my heart. When we dropped her off, they put their leash in her, and you could tell that she was very frightened. SHe was fighting going w/ them for all that she was worth. She put her little butt down and they had to drag her away. I took my kids w/ me, and I had tears in my eyes, and my #1 was crying. She did NOT want to leave Cupcake there. And neither did I. So I face today, sad and missing my little puppy. I have 2 sick kids today, that are owly. I have a hubby that keeps calling me to ask me whether or not I have started painting, (our basement project hasa been sitting these past 2 days w/ no work being done on it, and the stress in my head about it is doubling as the days go by) and I have a very high, scary mountain in my laundry room staring me down. ANd my FIL is having an angiogram and possibly looking at the possibility of open heart surgery. So today I need distraction. ANy takers?!

camera

So we have been doing what has turned in to a major project in our home. We are painting the basement. I want the trim white, w/ the halls 2 different colors. It has been the biggest headache of our life, and what it sure to be the end of our marriage. We have the walls painted, and then we started taping the walls to do the trim and the paint on the walls have started peeling. It is a nightmare. We finally started using this trimmer to paint with. Like I said it has been a nightmare.
Well my camera went on the fritz. It completely broke, and w/ our income tax money, I got a new one. I Love this camera. I have been taking pictures like you wouldn't believe. It has been months since I have taken a picture and I am making up for it now. So I was taking pictures of the basement, and I put the camera up on top of our entertainment center, thinking it's out of the way right?! The kids can't get it. Well my wonderful husband, was moving the entertainment center and a picture fell and knocked my camera....my NEW camera onto the ground and cracked the viewing screen! Needless to say, I was a little angry. He also broke this other little ring dish that my mother had given me. I have had more stuff get broken of mine that is important to me in the 8 yrs of marriage then ever before, and NEVER do they get replaced. I have just about had it. Back to the camera, then DH actually had the nerve to blame it on me. It was my fault that it was there.....I mean how dare I take pictures and put it up so the kids can't get it right!?!? I am really just totally speechless that this has happened. Now I have to go back to the basement and try and finish this horrible job, that looks like crap, w/ a crabby hubby and add me into this mix. It is sure to be a GREAT time! Why didn't I just wait until Tues? You know, this probably happened b/c we are doing this on a Sun when we didn't go to church!

hair

I am the type of person who is always changing my hair style. I go from long to short back to long again. I am never satisfied w/ the way that my hair looks. And now is no exception. I got my hair cut about 5 months ago. I had shoulder length hair and couldn't stand it anymore so I chopped it off, it is now extremely short. Maybe 2 inches long and very sassy. I have had this hair style before and have loved it. I got it chopped at one of those "salons" in your local crap mart store. The lady took about 20 min on my hair and called it a day. I never went back. I have decided that it is well worth my time, money, and self-esteem to go to an actual salon and pay $40 to get my hair cut right, and cut the way I like it. So that is what I did. I went to my favorite hairstylist, and she was wonderful! She spent a good 45 min on my hair and basically cut it 3 times, she cut it, then chopped it, and then even razored it. It was wonderful. My hair is almost the way I like it. But I am still not happy w/ it. I look in the mirror and look at myself and I think that I still don't look great. Maybe I need to lose weight and that is what I don't like. I haven't pinpointed it yet, but there is something about my appearance that I am not thrilled w/. I am trying to lose weight to. I am really trying my hardest to get out and walk. It has started to warm up a little here, and now that I can get out and walk, it seems that hubby is never home to watch the kids, and that prohibits me to get out and walk. It is driving me nuts! It has felt so good to get outside and feel my muscles stretching and really working. I so can't wait for spring. I am ready for no big bulky coats, and ready for jeans and t-shirts. I am ready to dig in the garden. I am ready for the sun warming my face. I am ready for no school. I am not ready though for a 1st grader. I can't believe how fast DD's 1st year of school has gone. She is so amazing. She has just blossomed this year. She loves school, and has gotten mad when we can't go. I pray that she keeps this attitude.

Finally

Well, my family has been sick. We have had the flu, and it has not been fun. Hubby had to stay home 2 days last week w/ us, b/c I could not get out of bed and away from the bathroom. It was not fun at all. I am very thankful for hubby. We are all better now, DD still has not got it and I pray that she doesn't. She is diabetic and it would not be good on her health.
Hubby's dad isn't doing well either. The doctor's think that he has congestive heart failure. He has had no energy, and hasn't been able to do anything. This must be hard on him. He isn't the type of person to just lay around and not do anything. He is always busy, and always working. He hasn't gone to the doctor since his military days 30 some years ago. He should have gone long ago. I pray that the doctors can give him the right medicine to make him feel better.
We have the day off school today and I am loving it. There is a lot of snow on the ground and it is warm out so we are off to go play in the snow today. It will be melting this week. I am so looking forward to spring. I can't wait for the 60 and 70's. School will be ending for the year soon, and then summer will begin. I love summer.

PARTY!!

I am so excited! We have a valentine party tonight! It is going to be so much fun. Our little group of friends are going to get together and we are going to have a party! Between the 5 couples we have 14 kids. And there will be NONE at this party! That is going to be awesome! I hope that everyone comes in a mood ready to have some fun, to hang loose and to party. I don't want to have to deal w/ any tension (my sister can sort of have an attitude sometimes) I just want to have fun! Well, I am off to paint. We are redoing our basement. Today we are painting the trim. Fun, Fun!

DS

So DS is sick. He has been since Tues. He isn't laying on his death bed, but he is sick. He has thrown up and pooped his pants. When that happened, he said, but momma, I had to fart, and then out came poop. I told him not to worry, it happens to Daddy to :>) I don't think it is the flu. I think it is something else. I don't know what, but something else. SO needless to say, I have not been to work all week. (Mon and Tues b/c of the cold the rest of the week b/c of DS) And I feel terrible about it. My boss got a sub and she said that it is okay. But I still feel bad. I miss the kids. I miss the teachers. But I have been enjoying staying home, although last night, I thought I was going to go nuts b/c I was so bored. I haven't been outside of my house since Monday afternoon and this is Fri. afternoon. Yikes!! That is a little reminiscent of the kids baby days. And I Don't want to go back there. Anyway, I hope that he gets better soon. I am wanting our lives to get back to normal.

Wednesday, February 7, 2007

Well, I have been home for the past 2 days. It has been bitterly cold here and Monday, they closed the schools here, and yesterday, I made an executive decision and we stayed home again. It was still colder then a witches well never mind. It was cold. And it was snowing. So we stayed home. Anyway, I was fully intending to go back today until my darling son(ds) 4 was up half the night coughing and then decided to throw up. So we are home today. And of course DS is just fine (thankfully- I didn't want to have to spend the day wiping up vomit) But I did get the chance to play school w/ them today. They did school work and did some cutting and gluing. I know that darling daughter (dd) 5 can do all of this since she goes to school, but I wanted to see what ds could do. And I was really impressed. You could tell that he was just starting to learn, but he was right w/ the kids that I work w/. ( I work as an aid in a k-4 class) I was so impressed. He hasn't had a day of school. And granted he couldn't write his letters, but he knew a lot of his number's by sight and could count almost to 20. ( I know, I know, if I would work w/ him more, he could do more) But overall, it made me feel like MAYBE, I could do this homeschooling thing. I have many in my group of friends that home school, and I realize that all days wouldn't be as easy as today, but I felt like if it landed in my lap, I could do it. Now that isn't to say that that is what I would choose. I am comfortable w/ her going to the Christian school. She is happy there. She loves her teacher, and her teacher loves her. She has blossomed in kindergarten. And it is an amazing thing to see. I am so proud of her. She is the youngest in her class and she is holding her own, and is passing a lot of kids who have had 2 years of school already.
