The BoYs who NeVeR grew up.......... or, BoYs will be boys. You choose!! :)

The other night we were invited out to Heather and Kevin's for dinner. Although, I think that the men had a hidden agenda in the whole evening, we still had a lovely evening!!

Heather and I were in the kitchen when all of a sudden the men come bursting into the kitchen and were excitedly talking on their way downstairs. Heather and I looked at each other knowing that something was coming. Next thing we knew, they come up the stairs carrying an old water heater.

Next thing we know, we hear the buzzing of a saw. The men are in the FRONT yard cutting into the water heater.

When the saw zaw didn't work, they pulled out a different kind of saw. ( I have no idea what it was called, it just looked and sounded mean!! )

Since this saw was even louder, it caught the attention of the boys, who had been in the basement playing.

I started getting a little nervous when the thing started smoking and sparks were flying everywhere!!

Come to find out, they just wanted to see what was inside the water heater!!

Organization!!

Just to prove that I am not just out playing, and that I really am trying to get things done around here. I thought I would post this. Dada has all her hair things thrown into 2 baskets. I am forever having a tough time finding the right hair clip for the right outfit.
So to alleviate that, I organized all her hair stuff and put them in the little drawers. I think I would make Tancy proud b/c they were also organized by color!!

The finished product!! I am really happy with how it turned out. I can't believe all the little clips I found!! :)

Forts and trips to the park

Yesterday was a busy day. I was able to watch Heather's kids for a while yesterday. The kids played well. The girls played "house" for a long while. The boys tried to tear their house down while playing cowboys. To hold the peace, I quickly had to put an end to that. :)

We took a good long walk to 1 of our neighborhood parks. The kids are now at a really good age to take walks. Logan is younger and had a little trouble keeping up.
So he was able to have a piggy back ride!! Lucky dog!!

The kids had a good time playing at the park.

On the way home, they worked on walking backwards. I think they walked backwards just about the whole way home!!

It was a good day.

Friends

I am thoroughly enjoying spring break. It already seems like it is going way to fast! I'm not complaining. I'm just sayin!! :)

I am a spontaneous person. It's just who I am, so when Stephanie suggested we get together today, we jumped at the chance. I don't think I have ever seen my kids get dressed so quickly in my entire life. Needless to say, they were very excited about their "playdate."

Stephanie has been an important person in my life. When we moved to our house, Joe and Steph were our neighbors. We had so much in common that it wasn't a surprise when Stephanie and I became fast friends. We were due I think 2 or 3 days apart from each other. Steph with her 1st and me with my 2nd.

As most of you know, Brother was born 2 weeks early, but was born with severe respiratory failure. We didn't know if he would even make it. This was something that really rocked my world. But Steph was there for me.

I remember when Joe and Steph brought Max home. We went over for a minute to welcome their little one home. It was a very surreal thing to me. Our little baby was laying in the hospital, not knowing if he was going to live or die. But I wanted to share in their joy in bringing their little baby boy home.

By God's grace, Brother did get better. He was in the hospital a little under a month. It was a very hard and trying month. But Steph was there for me. She would call and check on me at the hospital, she would get updates, and she would pray. When we would go home, there was occasionally cookies on the table, or a meal in the fridge. Joe would even mow the lawn for us. They were just there on the sidelines, doing whatever needed to be done.

When we were able to bring him home, they were there. Waiting to welcome our little one home.

Once again, we were together, holding our babies, this time in our arms.

We spent many days after that together. We would go on walks.

We would share our struggles and our joys,

and we would just sit there and wonder over our little boys.

We shared parties,

and playdates.
The boys played with each other, :)

and with their toys.

They even went swimming together.

We welcomed new babies,

and just played, played and played.

When Steph told me that they were moving, it made me very sad. I remember just crying and crying over it. I was just so sad. I felt like I was loosing a friend. Even though they were just moving up the road, it felt like there were miles between us.

I didn't realize what was wrong with me for quite a while. I didn't realize it, but I was suffering from post par tum depression. I just know that I leaned on Steph for everything. I was probably very overbearing and very needy. I probably did a very good job pushing her away.

But now looking back, I think that what happened was that God took that friend away from me. He wanted me to lean on him, the way I was leaning and depending on Steph.

We never fought over it, we never not talked, we just sort of drifted apart. The whole time I struggled with wanting to call her and just talk to her about what was going on in my life. The things that were difficult for me to wrap my mind around. She had a very good way of centering me. But God was always there, wanting me to run to him when times got tough.

We would still get together.

But that closeness wasn't there. I missed that. Like, I said, there was never a fight, there was never anything. I just knew that I needed to back off. And then life happened, we drifted apart, when our lives got busy. But I always missed her.

When we were in the accident, Joe was the officer who was there that night. He was that friendly face in the swirling sea of scariness and uncertainty.

In the past month, we have gotten together.

The kids have enjoyed playing together,

and have played well together.

I say all this to say that I have MISSED my friend.
I am a stronger person now. My comfort comes from God and not others now. The possibility of loosing a good friend has made me a better friend.

Provers 18:24~ A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

I think that God brings certain people into your life to help you at a specific time with a specific purpose. Sometimes you never see those people again, but sometimes, if you are lucky, God allows them to remain in your life. I am lucky.

Happy Easter

It's been tradition in my family for my whole life that on Easter morning you have to find your Easter baskets. So I have carried on the tradition with my family. Hunny absolutely hates this, but he humors me.
Their favorite puppy and blanket were forgotten in the excitement of finding their baskets.

Dada found her basket and couldn't wait to see what was in it.

Brother found his as well. Although he was a little disappointed that the Easter bunny didn't bring him a movie. (The last couple years we had gotten them a movie instead of a bunch of candy, b/c of Dada's diabetes.)

Brother was of course in no mood for pictures. After much threatening, he slowly changed his tune.

This is the best 1 that I got of him.

Dada of course was all for the pictures!! :)

Is that a smile I see??

Even Jeff wanted to get an Easter picture taken. Too bad he changed his clothes already!! I do have to say that I was disappointed that I didn't get a picture of Hunny and me.

We spent the day with Hunny's family. His parents had the whole family over for a big Easter dinner. I love spending time with his family. I have been looking forward to this since I found out about it. I honestly love getting together with his family. There are usually fun times, and good laughs. I especially love going out to the farm.
Next it was time for their baskets from Grandma and Grandpa S.

Brother also got a wiffle ball set. He was so excited to play!

I was really hoping that all the cousins could be there.

I really wanted to get a good picture of all of them. I think there are 3 missing here.

This is Collin, Dada, Tyler, Elisa, Brother, Ethan, and Elisha. Eli was happily eating cake and ice cream on the patio with his Mom and Blake and Anna where with Big Blake's family. Hopefully we will get together in May, and everyone will be able to be there. I know that Big Blake and Heidi were missed today!

Dada begged Grandpa to take the kids on a tractor ride. He eventually gave in.

And they were off. Grandpa also played baseball with them for quite a while. Brother was excited that his team won. He says that he had Elisha on his team. Elisha can be a little bit competitive. :)

HaPpY EaSteR to everyone. May you all take a minute to remember that Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
