Parks, walks, baseball and flowers

We have been having such beautiful weather here the past 2 days. I have really needed these warm days. They have been good for my soul. It is going to be cold again next week. But I can feel the warmth in my bones now. The cold won't last long! I even have proof! I was walking around the house today, and look what I found! Tulips!!!
And are these crocus?? Whatever they are.....they are beautiful to me.
I don't know what these are called either. What I am very excited about is seeing the Lily of the Valley. I love the smell of Lily of the Valley!!

We have also been able to get outside and enjoy this weather. The kids begged me to take them to the park. I think I would have had a protest on my hands if I said no!! So we took Cupcake and headed to the park. We weren't at the park a long time, when they decided they wanted to go on a walk. They took turns riding Brother's bike and walking the dog. ( I think Cupcake came in the house and crashed for the rest of the night!! ) I think that everyone was out enjoying the afternoon. We enjoyed talking to many of our neighbors.

After school today, Ethan came over to play with Brother. The threw their book bags in the door and then headed back out for the afternoon. I was looking out the window watching them and this is what I saw. Brother was on the ladder getting ready to climb the tree. I told Hunny that we might as well call the doctor b/c we would have to take him in as soon as he broke his arm or leg. ( Thankfully this did NOT happen. )

The boys were "building a tree fort." Notice the toolbag? You wouldn't believe all the little tools he has "borrowed" from Daddy. :)

Not only has he figured out how to climb up into the tree, he has also gotten the courage to jump out of it! This has me only slightly nervous.

Brother and Hunny also had a game of Baseball going on. I never did find out who won. But they must of had fun.....notice how filthy Brother's pants are?!?!?!

I am looking forward to the weekend. Even though the weather is supposed to not be so nice. (I have heard 2 inches of rain!!) But I do love the weekend! You won't believe what one of my dear friends asked me to do tomorrow. ;)

Psalm 30 : 10-12

10 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord be thou my helper. 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12 To the end that my glory may sing praises to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

I also love verse 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

What amazing these verses.

Fun with Peanut Butter and Bird Seed

Yesterday after school, we made peanut butter bird feeders. To do this, all you have to do is spread peanut butter on pine cones.

Then roll in bird seed. It is a little messy if you aren't right there watching what is going on.
Joy came over and wanted to make on also!
After they are all made, then hang in a tree. Enjoy!!

Bagels, coffee and well....um.....yah.....Basketball

I have never been a bagel lover. I had tried them a couple times in my life and while they weren't bad, I just never gravitated towards them. About a month ago, all that changed! For some reason I got in the mood to eat one and it has been downhill ever since. :) I started out eating blueberry with cream cheese. I have now switched to cinnamon swirl bagels with strawberry cream cheese! They are amazing! They are even better with a hot cup of sugar and coffee. (Notice my favorite coffee cup!)

Just a side note, in case I cause a bagel sensation and you want to run out and get some yummy bagels, the Thomas brand is the best!

And since I have permission, I will post the other pictures of Heather and Kevin. I told you that Kevin was being a card, well here's proof!! ;)
This is my personal favorite! I don't think he thought my camera would get it.....but it did!! (said with a devilish laugh!!) I think Heather will be glad we can't see her face!

Also I just wanted to give a shout out to our Varsity boys basketball team. They won 3rd place at State this weekend! I am very proud of the hard work and dedication it has taken to get there! It is also special for me b/c Hunny's cousin David plays on the team. He is a Junior this year. He is such a joy to see around school. He always has a smile ready. I look forward to seeing him play his senior year!

A weekend with friends

We had a nice weekend spent with some good friends. Heather and I.....with the kids help.....made plans to switch some kids this weekend. Heather took the girls, and I took the boys. Dada has been looking forward to spending the night at Heather's for some time now. Heather has been a little nervous to keep Dada overnight b/c of her diabetes. My kids have been talking about this night all week. Brother has had a little countdown going and constantly asked how many more nights till Logan spends the night! ( I secretly had the same countdown going, I was excited to spend some time with our friends!!)

Finally Saturday rolled around, and we headed over to their house for dinner with Kevin, Heather, Jared and Melissa.
Dylan was so excited about the hermit crab! He wouldn't even pause long enough to pose for a picture.

The kids played so well together, even though they did destroy the playroom in about 5 min flat! ( I still to this day don't understand how or why that happens!! )

The girls love playing with their American Dolls. Victoria's room was covered with American Girl clothes and polly pockets!!
Don't you love the toothless grin!?!?!

We also went out to dinner with Kevin and Heather after church on Sunday. Kevin was being a card, so I pulled the camera out and started snapping away! Since I would like to remain friends with Heather, I won't post the pictures I would LOVE to post, I will just post this one, which is very cute. I love to see couples who are madly in love with each other even after many years!

I hope you all have a great day!

Happy Birthday Gail

Today is Gail's birthday. We had Gail, DeWayne and Jeff over for dinner tonight. I made lasagna, salad, green beans and garlic bread. Brother insisted that we have cupcakes. He wanted sprinkles, and he picked out her "number" candles at Wal-mart. For some reason he was really excited about her "number" candles. She did tell us that this will be her last birthday. She is no longer celebrating birthdays!
I was laughing so hard at Brother in this picture. Grandma and Grandpa cleaned his face, and fixed his glasses, and told him how to smile. By the time he was ready to take the picture, he wasn't exactly sure how to smile. He had the funniest expression!
We even got Gail and DeWayne to play the Wii. (sorry the picture is so blurry....I can't figure out how to take good pictures in the living room when it's dark!!) The kids were so excited to show them how to do it.

Happy Birthday Gail. I hope you felt very special today. We love you very much!
