My agenda

Well, I am in for a busy few weeks. This week will be especially bad. My mother has asked me to host our mothers day celebration. I would rather not go into how I feel about this, but suffice it to say, that I am having Mothers day, and will do all the work, and keep my mom shut from now on. My aunt whom I have only met once in my life will be in town, and so now I have a time crunch to get all these odds and ends finished that we have been trying to tackle. Please pray with me that I will be able to get all done, and still be in a great frame of mind come Sunday. (My vote is still to go out, since I am a mother as well, but my vote doesn't really count when it comes to my mother) Okay, now I will stop complaining. I have had a profitable day today. I have gotten a lot done since I have been home.........

Things done

floors mopped
grocery shopping
kids rooms cleaned!!
dinner made
dog bathed

To do

clean out cub boards
dust entire house
clean carpet~ does it really do any good??
clean windows and mirrors
paint hallway, and touch up paint
finish laundry
organize laundry room
clean bathrooms

I would really like to see the bathroom shower finished, but I don't think that we have the money to fix it.

eoyore

Oh, Woe is me.....that is how I feel today. Actually I have been feeling this way a lot lately. I know that you have read this kind of post a lot lately, but man I have been feeling even worse about it since the weather has warmed and I can't fit into any of my clothes. Don't get me wrong, I am glad that the weather has been great, but I am mad at myself that I am still fat enough that I can't fit into my summer clothes. But am I mad enough to stop eating chips and drinking pop before 10 every morning? No. I do think that summer will help with this problem. I don't eat that much when I am at home, but when I am at work, and stressed out, I reach for comfort food. And a twix bar, or a little bad of fritos and a can of pop, seem to do the trick. And I justify by telling myself that well, I have to work, so I can at least treat myself. And let me tell you the pan of brownies that I made last night doesn't help either. Isn't that a load of crap? I will walk tonight though. Not that I have been faithful to that either. In all honesty, I have tried!! I enjoy walking, and I have tried to be able to make time for it, but it just doesn't happen every day. Life is just to busy. I need a magic pill. Something to take before I eat that suppresses my appetite. Something that isn't harmful to my body. Something cheap. I can dream can't I?!?!
On a lighter note, I was able to spend the afternoon with 1 of my dear friends yesterday. It was so nice to catch up with her. What was even nicer was that after not seeing her since school started, we could just pick up where we left off. I really do like her, and I miss not being able to talk to her all the time.
I can't believe that DD is going to be graduating from kindergarten. 24 days, and I will have a 1st grader. I am really so proud of her. She really is a beautiful little girl.
Well, I had better get back to cleaning my house. I only have a little bit longer to be able to clean before I fall from exhaustion, so I had better get busy.

What in the world????

Do you ever wonder what God is up to? I am there now. DH has gone back to work, thankfully. He was thinking that this job would be something good and steady. His boss told him that if he gave them 8 full hours then they would treat him right. Well, DH just called and said that he won't be working now on Friday and possibly not Monday. There work is all caught up. When hubby got hired, they hired a couple other guys as well. Now why not hire less guys so you have enough work for everyone. That makes perfect sense to me. But they are only thinking about themselves and getting all their work done asap, and screw those people who are in and out of work. It sucks!! So this week he will only get about a 24 hr paycheck. How can people live off of 24 hrs?? That is what I want to know. We were doing better w/ him on unemployment and working odd jobs. At least that way we knew what to expect and when to expect it. This is ridiculous. We just want a steady job, with steady work and steady 40 hr paycheck. Why is that so hard to ask for?
I know that God is in control of all this. I know this. He has proved this over and over. He has proved that he will take care of us. It is just hard sitting here like a sitting duck wondering what in the world is going on and what is happening. I have to increase my faith here I guess.

Joyful

I FINALLY have my internet back! I somehow fixed this ridiculous thing. I was truly ready to hit the thing. And we all know what happens when I hit things. Does anyone remember the stereo incident?? Enough said.
I was reading my bible this morning and I was so encouraged. I was reading in Psalm and I am going to paraphrase the verse since I did not memorize it, and I don't feel like going upstairs to get my bible. ANYWAY..... the verse said that God would make the barren woman to keep house and be a joyful mother to children. Now I have read this verse many times, but the thing that struck me today was and be a JOYFUL mother to children. I just sat in wonder at how God brought this very verse to me when I needed it. I am claiming this as a promise. I will be a joyful mother to my children. Isn't that what I really want to be? Joyful? Joyful, not only toward others, but to my own kids?!? Now I am not dumb enough to think that this will be easy, but I am going to work at being at joyful mother. How you ask.......I will look myself in the mirror every morning and tell myself 5 times I will be a joyful mother, I will be a joyful mother. Okay, seriously, I don't know. And I am not really worried about it. I know that God has promised me this and I am going to take him at his word, and know that he will take care of this.
Well, Jeremy is back to work....to his real work. He started today at a new company called Acme plumbing. I have been praying for something constant and secure. I am hoping that this is the answer to that prayer.
Easter was good. We spent time at both parents house, (which we will not be doing next year. Next year we will be spending the day with his parents, if they want us. They get jipped out of so much, and I really feel bad. My mother will just have to deal with it. ) It was nice to see my Grandma. She is such a beautiful woman. If I could only be like her. I wonder who my mom takes after. It would shock me if it were my grandma. #1 had way to much candy. I am surprised that she didn't go into diabetic coma after it all, but a couple shots and she was just fine. Actually, she didn't go high at all. She was actually low on Easter. Her #'s have seemed to be doing very well. I am hoping for a good a1c when we go to the doc on Mon. Although her doc. is going to hear from me. I have had it with them not calling me back when I call.
I have not walked since the weather has been so crappy. I can NOT believe that it snowed, and there is actually snow on the ground. That is ridiculous. I keep telling myself soon, it will be warm soon. Now hopefully it will come true.

Easter

Well, let's see. Spring break is almost over. We have Monday off and then we are back to school. We have 7 weeks left till school is over. I know that it will go fast. Hopefully this weather will warm up soon. It won't get out of the 30's today. The flowers and plants are starting to freeze. It's a good thing I didn't plant anything in the garden, it may not have made it. I had been thinking about planting some lettuce.
Well, tomorrow is Easter. I am happy about it. We are going to my mom's. I really hate having to decide who's house we are going to. A couple of years ago, Dh's parents were out of town every Easter, so it was never a problem of where we were going. Well, not they are staying in town, and things have gotten harder. And no one over plans anything until the week of Easter, which always adds to some confusion. We don't know where we are going or where we are going. To tell you the truth, I would like to just stay home and make my little family an Easter meal, and call it a day. I hate dealing w/ where we are going and what we are bringing, and all that stuff. I don't want to hurt the mothers feelings, which always happens.
I am also not really ready for Easter. I still have to get there basket stuff. I am going to get them a movie, and some sand box toys. No candy. W/ DD being diabetic, candy is hard at Easter, okay at any holiday. So we try and substitute candy for little toys. (like they need any more toys either, but I feel like we should do something)
I am so excited about something that is going on. It's nothing major, just something that the Lord has impressed on my heart to do. He has provided us w/ something that we can share, and I can't wait to do it. I was up last night thinking about how we could do this, and I was just excited. God is good.
Well, I have lady's meeting today, and so that cuts into a lot of my day today. I need to get Easter basket stuff, and I need to clean the house. I still need to get some tights, and a little tank top to go under neath my dress (it's a little low.) I was able to get a new dress this year also. I am so excited about it. There is nothing like wearing a new dress to church on Easter morning. That is the best! I have a cute pair of heels to wear w/ it also. If only it weren't going to be 35! 70, would be perfect. Heck, even 60! Oh, well.
Well, I had better get on w/ my day.
