Things I kNoW about GOD

God keeps his promises.

The Bible is jam packed with examples of God's promises he has kept to his people. Some of my all time favorite examples come from the Israelites.

God saw their need when they were an oppressed people living among the Egyptians. He knew of there need and he placed Moses in charge of leading them to freedom. To a land flowing with milk and honey.

7The LORD said, "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 9 And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt."

Moses questioned God's call on his life. He doubted his ability to complete the task. But in the end Moses obeyed God and left Midian for Egypt.

You know the rest of the story.....

God led the Israelites through the wilderness. Through dry land, through hunger. He gave them light by night and cloud by day.

God keeps his promises.

Maybe not in our time frame. But always in God's.

I know that there are things in life that seem so crucial. Things that need to be taken care of RIGHT NOW. And we cry out to God saying....can't you see us? Can't you see what we are going through? We so often question God, question if he is here and why he is allowing these things to happen.

Some of my favorite verses that I go to:

Isaiah 43:1-5a
1 But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
2 When you pass through the waters,

I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
3 For I am the LORD, your God,

the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
Cush and Seba in your stead.
4 Since you are precious and honored in my sight,

and because I love you,
I will give men in exchange for you,
and people in exchange for your life.
5a. Do not be afraid, for I am with you;

Isaiah 43: 18-19
18 "Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!

Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah 43:10-13

10 "You are my witnesses," declares the LORD,
"and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he
. Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me.
11 I, even I, am the LORD,

and apart from me there is no savior.
12 I have revealed and saved and proclaimed—

I, and not some foreign god among you.
You are my witnesses," declares the LORD, "that I am God.
13 Yes, and from ancient days I am he.

No one can deliver out of my hand.
When I act, who can reverse it?"

My desire is to know and believe God.

I believe that God keeps his promises to me.

And I am loving getting to KNOW my GOD.

I can't wait to see the new thing that God has for our life. The way in the dessert, and his stream in our wasteland.

You are mine you are precious in my sight.
