Lessons from the Kitchen

Lesson #26 ~ I have never before been so thankful for air conditioning. For the past 3 years I have FROZEN at school. But not this year. I wear t-shirts and I am still roasting!!

Lesson #27 ~ Wear cute aprons. They just help make your day a little bit more fun!

Lesson #28 ~ Organization makes my life so much easier. I have been working on getting my office organized. I LOVE IT!!!

Lesson #29 ~ Kids don't like Tator Tot Casserole nearly as much as I do.

Lesson #30 ~ Kids LOVE Meatball Sandwiches. I don't.

Lesson #31 ~ They love Chocolate Chip Pancakes even more.

Lesson #32 ~ Kids love to show you "new" tricks.

Lesson #32 ~ A good helper is essential. Alyssa has become invaluable to me. She took care of the kitchen when I couldn't be there.

Lesson #33 ~ Always make sure that you put poured milk on a FLAT surface in the fridge. Otherwise it might end up on the floor and all over someones shoes when they open the door.

Lesson #34 ~ Repay your helpers with a free meal when cleaning up said milk.

Lesson #35 ~ Remember to order your milk. Otherwise you might run out by Thursday and the kids MIGHT revolt without their chocolate milk.

Lesson #36 ~ Kids LOVE Big Texas Cinnamon Rolls. And I mean LOVE them. I will go through 4 dozen of them in a week. Seriously.

Lesson #37 ~ Kids WILL remember when you forget to give them their Popsicles. And they will hunt you down after school and demand 1 from you. Thankfully I remembered their Fudgesicles.

Lesson #38 ~ BLT'S are a HUGE hit, but a little hard to make in huge quantities. I burned 1 and a 1/2 pans of bacon while cooking them in the oven. And I mean BURNED as in smoke billowing out of the oven. And of course that happened during the start of a lunch period. Thankfully Reitha took care of it right quick.

Speaking of Reitha.....she is the best! She stops in the kitchen just to see how I am doing and looks for something to do. And when she sees what needs to be done, she just does it. She has come down countless times to help me finish up the never ending dishes. And now that I am dealing with my back also, she yells at me when she thinks I am doing to much. I LOVE yah Reitha!! Thanks for all you. You truly do have a servants heart.
