Dada's Family Party

Dada had her family party on Saturday night. I thought by this time, she would be partied out, but she was rarin to go!!! I made 2 cakes. 1 double layer Chocolate cake with Suzy's white icing in the middle, with Chocolate icing outside!! It was fanastic. The other 1 was a butter cake with Suzy's white icing.

During the afternoon, Hunny took the kids swimming. While he was gone, I made the cakes. While I was making the icing, I remembered standing in Suzy's kitchen, and she handed me graham crackers with icing in it. It was a delicious snack. :) So after making the icing, I got out some graham crackers and made me a little treat. It took me right back to Suzy's kitchen, standing next to Erica tasting it for the 1st time!!

Grandpa and Grandma S got their 1st. I am so glad that she is close with her grandparents. She loves them so much!!

Brother, Ethan and Eli. Brother and Ethan so close. Joanna said that she thinks Ethan would love it if they were brothers. I think they both would love it!!

Just some random shots................

I think Mike looks so much like his Dad here!!!

Joy and Andrew came. The only people not there, were, Jeff....who was taking his teen group to Iowa for a convention, Jonathan....who is in Iraq, and Melanie....who is in Hawaii. We missed you all!!!

Just messin around!!! :)

We had a very nice time at the party.

Dada's Sleepover

Well, we have had a great day today. The girls got along so well, although I know they are WORN out!!

This morning we walked down to the donut shop. I cannot begin to tell you how excited they were to go to THE donut shop. On the way there, I heard Victoria tell all the girls that we had to RUN across the busy road or we would all DIE. I had to giggle.

They all took their time choosing just the right donut. And boy were they tasty!!

The girls had fun playing dress up, and barbies, and Polly Pockets, and watching Barbie movies.

Dada's friend Kate spent the night. While I was nervous to have her spend the night (as was her Mother). I knew that there was no time like the present and Dada DESPERATELY wanted her here. So why not!! These 2 have such a special bond, and I love seeing it. Kate has such a sweet heart!

While we were cleaning the pool, the girls had a great time finding worms and toads. YUCK!!!!

They absolutely COULD NOT wait to jump in the pool. Thankfully they were patient with me while I took a million and 1 pictures!!! :)

I was glad that Kayla could join us before lunch. ALL the girls ran and almost knocked her down when she came in the door. Abby and Kayla became fast friends!!

I don't know who had more fun....the girls or Daddy!!

I LOVE this picture. Look at Elisa's face! I don't know what she was so excited about, but she thought it was great. I also think it's funny how Kayla threw water on him. She was SURE it got him wet!!

They thought it was pretty ingenious when they made their own Popsicles. Pretzels with grapes on top. They made me try it, and let me tell you, it was.................delicious. :)

Victoria couldn't wait for the Popsicles. I think she asked me 4 billion times when we would have them. I think she almost fell off her chair from excitement when I brought them out.

I know I have said it before, but I am so glad that she is growing up with her cousins close.

I hope that Dada had a great birthday!! We still have a family party to make it through!! :)

I fell.....

I have a good man. Since I got up early this morning early with Victoria and Logan, Hunny stayed up with the kids last night. I think I finally heard him creep in around 1:30!!! But I still needed an extra boost this morning. Some of you will know why I posted this picture. If so, don't think any less of me!!! :) I had to do, what I had to do. ;)

Summer = Swimming

Since this summer has been on the cool side, (which I'm not complaining about, I'm just stating a fact) we were all excited to be in the pool.

This was a big day for Logan. Unbeknownst to me, he got in the pool for the 1st time with just arm floaties on! I know his mom was so proud of him when she heard!!

I wanted to get all the kids jumping in the pool, but knew better then to make Logan jump in. I wish I had gotten this shot 1 sec earlier. Then it would have been great!

It was a good hot day to be at the pool. We were there for a couple hours and enjoyed every minute of it. (Even if I did just sun bathe!!)

Happy 8th Birthday Dada

Today is Dada's 8Th birthday. She has been looking forward and counting down the days since January! She couldn't sleep last night cuz she was so excited about today.

We have had a good day today. I really try to make their birth DAY special for them.

Grandma S came over this morning. She wanted to see her ON her birthday and drop off her presents.

For lunch I made her favorite....spaghetti and of course the biscuits. :)

She requested a strawberry cake, b/c she had 1 at Grandma's and it was REALLY good.

She wanted to help ice the cake. And then she put sprinkles on it. I think I have been stepping on sprinkles all day. Even after sweeping the floor 2 times!! :)

After lunch we surprised the kids by taking them to Monkey Joes. They didn't know where we were going until we pulled into the parking lot. We had them guessing the whole way there.

They had a fun time running around and jumping.

The kids were tuckered out after about an hour. So we headed home.

What's a birthday without presents?? Dada loves playing with dolls. So when I saw the little doll hair chair, I knew it would be perfect for her. And you can always use new baby clothes.....right?!?!

Dada is now geared up for her slumber party that she is having tonight. Brother went to spend the night at Grandma's. I think he couldn't wait to leave!!! ;)

Things I Love

Today for lunch I decided to make spaghetti. I decided to make biscuits to go with it. I LOVE baking powder biscuits. LOVE THEM, LOVE THEM, LOVE THEM!!!!! So I got all the ingredients for it and called my 2 little helpers in.

They had fun greasing the pan,

and cutting out the biscuits.

They anxiously awaited the arrival of the biscuits from the oven.

When we sat down to eat, the kids all grabbed a biscuit and Victoria whole heartily said that these were the best biscuits ever.

Baking Powder Biscuits

2 cups all-purpose flour
4 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup skim milk

Directions
Preheat the oven to 450.

Grease a baking pan

Put the flour, baking powder and salt into a large mixing bowl. Add the shortening and mix together.

Add the milk all at once and stir to moisten all the flour and shortening. Dust a surface with flour, turn the dough onto the surface and knead the dough ten times.

Pat the dough into a circle about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch thick. Cut the biscuits with a two-inch cookie cutter and place on the prepared pan with a little space between the biscuits.

Bake 12-15 minutes or until the tops are lightly browned.
