Our 1st official day of christmas break!

I LOVE being home!! I have been so excited about this Christmas break. And having Friday off was such a huge blessing. I have gotten done so much stuff, that now I feel like we can actually relax a little. I have all but 1 present wrapped, and the house is clean. Today I will work on laundry, and I have been anxiously waiting to bake cookies with the kids this year. So that is what we will do today!

I am watching my little surrogate today. Dave dropped Sidney off this morning around 7. I was excited to watch her. The kids have been following her around and trying to pick her up. Dada is quite the little mother!

This Christmas season has been so good. I have been enjoying it so much this year. I hope that you are able to slow down in this crazy season to enjoy how magical it is. Have a great day!!

Christmas programs and Snow days

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted, it's not b/c I didn't want to....I just haven't had the time! But I have missed you all!

We are in the midst of a huge snow storm today. All the school are canceled, which is just fine with me. I love the extra day of Christmas vaca! I am already working on laundry, and I might even bake some cookies later on today.

We've had Jeff's birthday party. I have gotten to know Jeff so much in these past few years. He is such a great guy, and he means the world to me! I hope he had a great birthday!

Our kids had their church Christmas program. Tom and Linda did a GREAT job organizing and directing the whole thing! They are such a great couple!
I tried to get a good picture of the kids after the program, but they were just to excited. But the more I think about it, the more I like these pictures. I truly shows who the kids are. They do have a great personality!


The next night we had the Dada's school Christmas program. She was so excited about doing her program. She talked and talked about how her teacher said they were doing so well. And they did a GREAT job!

I thought it was so nice that Janelle drove down JUST to see the girls in their program. That meant a lot to me!


We also had our school Christmas party. We had a lot of fun at our table. Jason, Jeremy and Larry kept us laughing!

I was in charge of the games last night. I do want to thank Tancy for her help in getting the prizes with me. She helped me sort out my thoughts and get just the perfect prizes.


Jason and Lori won the Newlywed game. I love that game!!

Brother couldn't wait to get outside and into all this snow! He was building little tunnels and forts everywhere!


However, I don't think Hunny had the same thoughts!

A Surprise Visit

Last night my 2 very best friends surprised me by showing up at my house carrying 5 pizza mia pizzas and 8 very excited children! They knew that Hunny would be gone at a meeting, and they knew that I needed some cheering up. (To be quite honest....Beth just happened to be in town getting her guinea pigs from Tancy, and they just decided to pop in.....which was more then okay with me!!!)Side Bar....did you know that they eat guinea pigs in other countries??? Anyway...it was such a blessing to me to have them over. This was the 1st time that all the kids have been together since the accident. And boy did it show! They were loud and ready to play! But to be honest...although it was very loud at times, it was music to my ears. Things could be so different.
There wasn't room at the table...so Brother decided to get his "desk" and sit at it!

Since it is so cold outside...we even had a few uninvited guests! The guinea pigs...not the kids! :)
What a blessing it is to see Zach up and running around. I think he even got in trouble at 1 point in the evening!

I am so thankful for these 2 girls! I always knew that we had a special bond, but I am just realizing how important and special these girls are to me! Love you guys!

A fiery trial

Hello all! I know my blog has been silent lately. I have been struggling lately, and I didn't know exactly how to say how I felt, or whether I wanted to voice my struggles. I have been caught up in my own thoughts and worries.

Today's sermon was just what I needed. It sort of hit me square in the face. It was taken from 1 Peter 4. The verses that I needed was verses 12 & 13.

4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

We are in a fiery trial. Our trial isn't over yet. We owe lots of money now b/c of this. God may decide to not take this trial away from us. But I know that he will get us through it. I can sit here and say that I have no idea what is going to happen. How are we going to be able to pay off our van? How can we afford to get a new van? We certainly can't do both. There are so many concerns that I have. And these concerns are what is sometimes trying to swallow me up. Sometimes, I feel like there is no way out of this hole we are in. But I have a hope. My hope is in Christ Jesus. He will not give me anything greater then what I can carry.

These verses I can cling to. The Lord has givin me something to rejoice in. I have said this before, and I can with confidence say it again, there is something bigger then me or any of us working in our life. There was a reason for this accident to happen, there is a reason why 8 people survived an accident that should have killed at least 2 of us.

I can hold onto the fact that when HIS glory shall be revealed, I will be glad also with exceeding joy!

Happy Thanksgiving

Well things are slowly getting back to normal around here! Dada had a doctor's appointment with her bone doctor on Monday. She had x-rays taken and the bone is healing nicely. Much to my surprise the doc said that she didn't have to use her crutches. He said if it starts to hurt again then she can use the crutches, but if she feels fine without it, then she doesn't need the crutches! What a relief! She did have trouble walking for the 1st night. She wasn't used to walking without the crutches! She still can't run or jump, but that's fine with me!

Zach is healing. He still needs to take things slowly, and he is quite tired.

Tomorrow we will be going to my sister's house for Thanksgiving. I am really looking forward to spending time with my family. I only wish that Jonathan and Melanie could be with us!

Good morning

Hello all. It has been a very busy week! I am very thankful for a 2 day work week this next week! I need it!! I am exhausted! Dada is doing great! She doesn't let much stop her! She even wanted....and did cheerlead at the basketball game on Saturday! She was in competition to be louder then the other teams cheerleaders. She actually did really well. Of course she could only remember 2 cheers, so they got pretty old, pretty fast!
