I was sitting there only half listening to Dada do her homework. When it started to sound a little funny.
She was reading alright, but not Robert Fulton. :)

HaPpY SunDaY, grab a good book, and enjoy!!

Guns, Dolls, and a good cup of Coffee.

Oh, it's Saturday! I look forward to this day ALL week. I love being able to SLEEP IN!!! I just had a cup of coffee in my favorite pink cup!! I love spending time with the family and just hangin out. I think tonight is going to be a movie and popcorn night. We rented Marley and Me. So I am looking forward to tonight.

Last night we had Kevin and Heather and Jared and Melissa over. We had a very nice relaxing evening. The kids played nicely, so the adults were able to actually have a nice evening. Well, that was until Brother told Jared that he had 20 hundred guns. Jared dared him to show him the guns, so Brother and Logan brought out all Brother's guns. While it wasn't exactly 20 hundred guns, there were probably about 10.

Which then proceeded into an all out gun fight.................

Between the men!!

While there was a shoot out in the living room, Dada and Victoria were playing with their American Dolls in the family room

After then gun fight, and the dust settled, the boys played the Wii instead.

I love the KitCheN TaBlE. Many heartaches and laughter has been shared over the kitchen table. A good cup of coffee and a friend sitting by you will make anything better!!

BTW, today is Melissa's bday!! I hope you have a GREAT day today!! Enjoy your time with your family tonight!!

Proverbs 17:22 ~ A merry heart doeth good like a medicine but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

This is for Mrs. Burger. I have gotten to really enjoy working with Mrs. Burger. We get to set snack up together every day, and I really cherish that time to get to chat with her.

She will be tickled by the first song that plays.

Have a GoOd LaUgH ToDaY!!!

A Bowl A Thon

Let me preface this by saying that I HATE fundraising. I dread fundraising every fall and spring. Now that we have 2 kids at school, it's even worse. I can't imagine having more kids and feeling the pressure to get a certain amount, or having your kids upset b/c you didn't get suckered into spending enough money to win them that AWESOME spongebob refrigerator, or the COOL Nintendo DS that all the kids want.
So this year when our school announced that we were having a bowl a thon for a fundraiser, I was super excited. The kids could actually do something fun while earning money. It was a win-win!!

Well today was the BIG day!! After spending the last week calling their friends and family to sponsor them, they were more then ready to board the bus for the bowling alley!
The whole thing was so well organized. Each class had their lanes with their shoes all laid out, and their names already entered into the computer. The Principal had the seniors come with the preschool classes to help the little ones bowl. They were SUCH a HUGE help. The preschoolers LOVED having the "big" kids there to "watch" them bowl.
Side note.....I can't wait to watch Brother grow. He is turning into a funny little man. (there is NO doubt in my mind that he gets it from me!! )

Brother and some of his classmates. It is really nice to see how the kids have come together and bonded.
Dada getting ready to bowl! Every spare or strike you get, you were able to run up to the counter and pick a piece of candy out of a bowl. I think Dada got at least 5 spares!!
Ethan was a little lost today without his buddy (who wasn't able to come bowling.)
But since his big bowling "Buddy" Cody was there. He was happy. Cody helped Ethan bowl.
1 of the highlights for me was that Mrs. Dyal had to bowl. The DJ announced that Mrs. Dyal had 2 chances to bowl higher then an 8. If she did it, then she would win a free game of bowling for the whole school. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to do it. But Mrs. Carlson won the game later on, so everyone was able to go home with a coupon for a free bowling game with their parents.
Since Hunny is off work, he has been able to go to the kids different field trips they have had this past month. Today was no exception. He met the kids at the bowling alley and was able to divide his time between the 2 kids. (Isn't he the best dad??)

I was able to go down to see Dada's class for a few minutes. They are such a great class. They get along really well, and genuinely enjoy spending time together.
Here are2 boys that are in Dada's class. They like to tease me every day at lunch!
The bowling alley also had a drawing for the kids, that they were automatically entered into. The names that were drawn won a bowling pin. It was exciting to see who was going to win the next pin. Olivia was 1 of the lucky ones!! ( I have a picture of Dada and Olivia when they were probably 3 on a beach in Arkansas!! I should post it for you!!)
Since Dada has a late birthday. I really struggled when to put her into kindergarten. I didn't know if I should hold her off a year and wait till she was almost 6. But the preschool principal told me that she thought that Dada was ready and that I should go ahead and enroll her. Boy am I glad that I listened that that advice! Dada fits in beautifully with her class. She is loved by all and honestly LOVES them back. Her class is a unique and gentle class.
Watch out Jared, you have some competition on your heals!! And look, there is 6 inches between them. So Daddy should be happy also!!
Speaking of Daddy, thanks for going with the kids. I know they LoVeD having us both there.

HaPpY BirThdAy!!

Today is Jessica's birthday. Jessica is my oldest sister. We haven't always gotten along. When we were younger, we fought like cats and dogs. Literally!! But as we have gotten older, it isn't like that anymore. She is such a help to me. We share a special common thread that neither one of us exactly wishes we had. Since Jessica is a type 1 diabetic, she is a help to me when I need advice with diabetes.

In the cookies of life, sisters are the nuts. ~Author Unknown

I don't believe an accident of birth makes people sisters or brothers. It makes them siblings, gives them mutuality of parentage. Sisterhood and brotherhood is a condition people have to work at. ~Maya Angelou

I am so glad that God gave you to me for a sister. HaPpY BirThdAy.

Spring pictures

The kids got spring pictures taken at school a couple of weeks ago. (Since when do you take SPRING PICTURES?? Anyway.....) I HATE them. Dada's is better then Brothers. But I am not happy with them!

I'm sorry about the poor quality of these pictures. I just took a picture of the paper that they sent home.

Notice Brother's hair! I know that isn't the picture takers fault. But HOLY COW!!

OK. These are really what I am not happy about. This is NOT my son. This does NOT look like BROTHER. This looks like a kid who rides the short bus.

Look at the glare on his glasses. Now that was the photographers fault.

These are the ones that I took before the photographer took them. I think I am so upset, b/c they are his kindergarden pictures. This is a photo that he will have forver, and I wanted it to be nice.

Prayer.

It's something that means so much, but we do so little of. How many times do we go through our days and tell people that will remember them in prayer, only to forget as soon as we walk away?

Ephesians 3:14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I have been really focusing on praying lately. This verse has come to mean a lot to me these days. I have noticed that when I pray, there are things that I pray because there are so many needs around me. Not just in my life but in the lives of the people around me. But then, when I get really personal before God, that's when I have the desire to bow my knee before him. Those are the things that are so important in my life that all I can do is fall on my knees before God.

So what I want to know is.......What is it that makes you bow your knees before Christ?
