A Bowl A Thon

Let me preface this by saying that I HATE fundraising. I dread fundraising every fall and spring. Now that we have 2 kids at school, it's even worse. I can't imagine having more kids and feeling the pressure to get a certain amount, or having your kids upset b/c you didn't get suckered into spending enough money to win them that AWESOME spongebob refrigerator, or the COOL Nintendo DS that all the kids want.
So this year when our school announced that we were having a bowl a thon for a fundraiser, I was super excited. The kids could actually do something fun while earning money. It was a win-win!!

Well today was the BIG day!! After spending the last week calling their friends and family to sponsor them, they were more then ready to board the bus for the bowling alley!
The whole thing was so well organized. Each class had their lanes with their shoes all laid out, and their names already entered into the computer. The Principal had the seniors come with the preschool classes to help the little ones bowl. They were SUCH a HUGE help. The preschoolers LOVED having the "big" kids there to "watch" them bowl.
Side note.....I can't wait to watch Brother grow. He is turning into a funny little man. (there is NO doubt in my mind that he gets it from me!! )

Brother and some of his classmates. It is really nice to see how the kids have come together and bonded.
Dada getting ready to bowl! Every spare or strike you get, you were able to run up to the counter and pick a piece of candy out of a bowl. I think Dada got at least 5 spares!!
Ethan was a little lost today without his buddy (who wasn't able to come bowling.)
But since his big bowling "Buddy" Cody was there. He was happy. Cody helped Ethan bowl.
1 of the highlights for me was that Mrs. Dyal had to bowl. The DJ announced that Mrs. Dyal had 2 chances to bowl higher then an 8. If she did it, then she would win a free game of bowling for the whole school. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to do it. But Mrs. Carlson won the game later on, so everyone was able to go home with a coupon for a free bowling game with their parents.
Since Hunny is off work, he has been able to go to the kids different field trips they have had this past month. Today was no exception. He met the kids at the bowling alley and was able to divide his time between the 2 kids. (Isn't he the best dad??)

I was able to go down to see Dada's class for a few minutes. They are such a great class. They get along really well, and genuinely enjoy spending time together.
Here are2 boys that are in Dada's class. They like to tease me every day at lunch!
The bowling alley also had a drawing for the kids, that they were automatically entered into. The names that were drawn won a bowling pin. It was exciting to see who was going to win the next pin. Olivia was 1 of the lucky ones!! ( I have a picture of Dada and Olivia when they were probably 3 on a beach in Arkansas!! I should post it for you!!)
Since Dada has a late birthday. I really struggled when to put her into kindergarten. I didn't know if I should hold her off a year and wait till she was almost 6. But the preschool principal told me that she thought that Dada was ready and that I should go ahead and enroll her. Boy am I glad that I listened that that advice! Dada fits in beautifully with her class. She is loved by all and honestly LOVES them back. Her class is a unique and gentle class.
Watch out Jared, you have some competition on your heals!! And look, there is 6 inches between them. So Daddy should be happy also!!
Speaking of Daddy, thanks for going with the kids. I know they LoVeD having us both there.
