Happy Father's Day

I just wanted to say Happy Fathers Day to my precious husband. He is an amazing father. I love watching him play with and interact with the kids.

We had a reunion today with my dad's side of the family. It is not the most exciting time b/c I don't really know my dad's side of the family. Anyway. That's what we did today. While we were there......my dad was talking to 1 of his (I think) 2nd cousins.
And my sister Jessica and I noticed how much they looked alike. I told them that they resembled each other. And they both said.....yep it's in the jeans. HAHAHAHAHA.........they even have the same sense of humor.

The kids had a great time at the reunion. They had a water balloon fight. They were both DRENCHED!!!!

Dada took a break during the water balloon fight to do some arts and crafts.

A day with the cousins.........

Today, we had a pretty busy day. Hunny had to go do a side job at his cousin's house. And the kids and I were invited to come along for the ride. (We all have kids the same age.) So off we went.

While the men were working in the basement.......

Hunny doing his favorite thing..........plumbing

Mike doing electrical

Troy working on electrical

The women were doing a garbage......I mean garage sale. Mandy and Joanna have been working on the garage sale since Thursday. They were pretty exhausted by today!! There were also many many kids running around and generally having a fun time.

They did get a little bored so we got the slip n slide out. Troy and Mandy have a great yard for a slip n slide since they have a little hill in their front yard. The kids thought that was the greatest thing ever!!!

With all the rain we have been having the ground was already saturated with water. So the slip n slide didn't help all that much! But the kids enjoyed it even better when at the bottom of the slip n slide turned into mud!

Hunny took a brake from his plumbing and decided to play with the kids!!

We then decided to go out to dinner with Troy and Mandy. We went to Chili's. I was a little nervous. We don't really go to sit down restaurants with our kids. But they all did so well! I was really impressed.
Mandy, I'm sorry that the picture is so blurry! I was disappointed about that!

Roses and green beans

Well this week is slowly moving along. It is already Thursday!! Dada has been wanting to help out around the house lately. So the other day I let her help clean the windows.

Joy even wanted to get in on the action! Joy helped Hunny put the screens in the windows.

I wish you could smell these! They smell so sweet! These roses are right outside my window.

And here are my green bean plants finally poking there head out of the ground. Fresh green beans are 1 of my favorite vegetables!

The Truly Remarkable Democratic Loon

Today was a fun day. Our local park district puts on what is called Imagination Station. (It is every Wednesday at 1:30 in the band shell, for those who are interested.) This week there it was Truly Remarkable Loon. I thought it would be about a bird, but it was a juggler. And a very funny and good juggler at that. The only thing I didn't like about him was that he put in little bits of politics into his act. He is a total democrat. Which if your a democrat, that's your problem :) But he kept making "jokes" about the war, and about Bush. There is a time and place for that. And a kids juggling act is not the time or place.

The boys waiting for the show to begin.

Jonah was of course teasing me. He knew I wanted a picture of him, and he immediately put his fan up to hide his face.
Ah Ha....I got a great picture of him!! Isn't he cute?!?!?

Here is the Loon spinning plates. This was probably my favorite part of his act. He did a fantastic job doing this. Although Tancy was biting her nails the whole time b/c she was nervous he would drop one!!
I of course wanted a picture with all the kids and the Loon. This is the best 1 I could get.

We of course then went to McDonalds for some ice cream to cool off.

A good laugh

We have had a much calmer week so far this week. But to me honest I sort of miss the activity. I think I thrive on excitement. I do have volleyball camp in the mornings this week. I think I am learning just as much as the girls are at this camp.

I love getting together with my friends. We have such a good time laughing and crying and just letting our hair down. We try to go out once a month. It is always something I look forward to. I just want to thank my husband for allowing me these much needed nights. He doesn't always understand why I am so anxious to get out the door. But I just appreciate his not saying no.
The other day Beth and Tancy and I met at our favorite local Steak and Shake, for some food and fun. Here are just a couple pictures the Beth snapped of Tancy and I having a very serious conversation. :)

Picnics, parks, and ice cream

Well Beth and Tancy and I decided to go to the park yesterday. We have been blessed many great parks in our area. We have decided to use them wisely.

We packed a picnic and headed to the park.

The kids had such a blast. We were there for about 2 and 1/2 hours. And we hardly heard a complaint from the kids.

They even had a rock climbing wall the kids climbed!!

After we were all hot and sweaty.....and right as the rain came pouring down, we headed off to Mcd's for a cool and refreshing ice cream cone.
