My friend Tancy has been in demolition mode in her house this past month. I don't mean paint the walls and get some new carpet, I mean MAJOR demolition. See they have this addition where there dining room and family room are. They also have a bedroom and bathroom there.
Now when the Warmuth (or was it Varmuth??) brothers built the addition back in 1976, they really did a......in Tancy's words a craptastic job. Now she doesn't mean craptastic.....she means CRAPTASTIC!!!!!!! There isn't a straight line in the whole place. Some of the walls don't match up, the floor is caving in, there are windows, the builders just left IN the wall. Tancy has found 2 windows after taking off the paneling and drywall. It really is unbelievable. Honestly I could probably have done a better job at building that addition then the Warmuth brothers.
I say all that to say that yesterday Beth and I went over and helped Tancy.

Tancy is tearing out everything! Walls, ceilings, floors, you name it, it's coming out! It is actually quite amazing.
Now if you have never helped take out a floor, it's actually quite harder then it looks. I do not take floors or walls out.

Tancy calls me a priss. And I'm ok with that. In all honesty, I am afraid I am going to fall through the floors joices or something. (By the way.....the picture of me is supposed to show me doing nothing and Beth working really really hard.) Well, since I don't take out floors or walls, I was laying in bed the other night wondering what I could be doing to help Tancy out. And I got to thinking about her garden. Since she has been working so hard in the house, her garden had succumbed to weeds. So I spent yesterday working in the garden and tending the never ending burn pile. (they are burning all the wood from the house)

The boys helped drag all the wood out to the burn pit.

While the mothers were working.....the kids played. And let me tell you, they played so well.

The kids built a "tree house" in the pine tree. It was so fun to hear them playing and pretending.

This is by far my favorite picture of the day. #4 was the supervisor of the day. He helped me in the garden, and kept Beth, Esther and Tancy on track. He also kept all the other kids in line. :) Don't you just love the stud finder in his pocket??
