Memorial Day 2012

We had such a lovely day on Memorial Day.

We spent the day at Janelle's house. I made BBQ Pork. And everyone brought a side dish.

It was pretty good if you ask me.

Jonathan and Melanie were in town for Jonas's first birthday.

I do love it when they are in town.

Emma girl was just a little tired that day. She took a 2 hour nap during the picnic.

Don't you just love all her rolls??

Since it was near 90, the kids were very excited that Janelle had a pool.

The babies, weren't near as excited.

Poor Jonas was teething. I felt so bad for the little guy.

Eli....well....being Eli.... ;)

The boys thought it would be great fun to run and jump into the pool.

The adults were just a LITTLE nervous. We didn't want any broken necks.

The boys on the side were making the "wave pool."

We all had a fun day.

It was so nice to have my Grandmother there. I love her so very much. She is always ready to give me a hug and tell me that I am her Jewel.
I think of this ^ when I think of her. ;) I think that she makes each one of us grandchildren feel that way.

I really hesitated to put up this picture. Since having Emma, I feel awful about myself. My body just isn't the same. And I hate this picture of myself. But it's great of my Grandmother.

I recently read this blog and it made me think a little. Little Emma was a long awaited blessing and I am very thankful for her. My body WILL eventually get better. Right now, it is still busy giving life to my little miracle. And that is what I am focusing on.

6 months old

My Name is Emma.

I am 6 months old.

My Best Friend is still Madelyn.

I can now ride in the car without screaming my head off. My Mother is very proud of me for this. I will cry every now and then when my parents keep me out past dark. But really, it's their fault. I should be at home in my bed by that time.

My Mother says that she thinks I just might be the happiest baby. Ever.

I can roll over now. Back to belly and belly to back. I was at my Grandma S house. Mommy was working. And Grandma was very proud of me when my Mommy got back from work. Grandma couldn't wait to show off my new trick.

I love my family. They can make me laugh and smile all the time.

My Mommy likes to try and feed me  food.

She made me try bananas.

I really didn't like them mashed up.

But then she gave them to me cut up and I liked that MUCH better.

I have tried, carrots, green beans (yuck!! I did NOT like those!) oatmeal ( no thank you) and sweet potatoes. My favorite is sweet potatoes. My Mommy says I am a smart girl, bc sweet potatoes are her favorite to. And she told me that I would learn to like green beans.

Mommy has let me suck on watermelon and I liked that. She said that I am going to try asparagus and then some squash.

My Mommy says that I am a squawker. Sometimes I will talk so loud. My parents just look at me and laugh.

My Mommy hopes that my 1st word will be Mama. She walks around the house going....Mamamamama.  But Daddy thinks my first word will be Dada. So he says to me all the time....DADADADADA.

I am learning to sit up now. I can sit by myself for just a few minutes. But Mommy is always close so I don't fall and hurt myself.

Everyone is telling Mommy that in no time I will be crawling. And I have been trying to get up on my knees. But boy is that hard!! Mommy doesn't like it when people say that I will be crawling. She says that she is just enjoying having me be a baby.

I am still plagued with Eczema. My Mommy took me to the doctor last week. The doctor helped with knowing how to treat it. Although she said that my eczema isn't related to my food allergies. Which Mommy thinks it is.

My favorite song is A bushel and a peck. Mommy sings it to me all the time. Mommy whispers it in my ear and I get really quiet and listen to her when she sings it to me.

Mommy is still my favorite person. I like to cuddle on her lap and put my head on her shoulder. Mommy talks to Jesus all the time and says how thankful she is for me. And what a blessing I am to our family.

One of my favorite parts of the day is dinner time. Mommy puts me in the bumbo on the kitchen table and I just watch everyone eating. I laugh and smile at everyone. Mommy says that I bring a lot of joy to every one's heart.

Girls will be girls.....

What do you get when you have 2 10 almost 11 year old girls watching you tube videos??

You get.... a very messy bathroom.

Why??

Because they were watching videos on how to do hair.....

and makeup.....

Thankfully, I was there to save Elisa's hair. She had the curling iron in her hair for I would say at least a minute. (I think she was close to burning it off. :0 Joanna wouldn't have been happy with me!! )

I quickly gave her a lesson and told her that she really DIDN'T want to burn her hair off. ;)

Silly, Silly girls......

I can't believe they will be in 6th grade.

I took the kids to the donut shop after school on the last day to "celebrate."

Sleeping Beauty

Last night was Maddie's play.

She was in Disney's Sleeping Beauty.

She was Francine the Baker.

I am always amazed at how hard Maddie works and how much she really has to learn for these plays. She is quick to listen to direction and obeys what she is being told. She is dedicated to her practices, doesn't complain about the 3 hour practice times and I think even looks forward to them. I admire her "stick to it."

Her admirerers.........

Joy and Luke

all 400 kids who came to see her.... :)

Grandma and Grandpa H.

Jeff, Tracy (who was hiding), Tancy, Lorrie, Joanna, Janelle, (and Mike was there as well)

Heidi and Anna

Her teacher...

Jeremy and I were laughing at this picture. We have no idea who the little boy is in the picture, but he sure wanted in on the action!

Tancy refused to be in the picture. The stinker.....

I think these 2 are my favorite pictures of the night.

Very P.R.O.U.D. parents.

Grandpa and Grandma S were there as well, but they left before I could get a picture of them.

From the very bottom of my heart, I just want to say thank you to everyone who has come out and supported My Maddie. It means so very much to us. I know that life is so busy and to take the time to come means the world. She had about 25 people come and see her.
