If I had a title it would go here

Wow! It has been a while since I have updated! We have been having problems with our internet. I guess we had a virus that attacked our internet. Fun times. We are thankful to our good friend JP who has been such a help in getting us back up and running. I am lost without my blogworld!

Volleyball season is now over. Our record was 2 and 6. Not to hot, but they were successful in playing together as a team and having fun. So I was happy with them. I really did enjoy coaching and I was thankful for the opportunity. The hardest part was having to deal with the parents. You would be surprised how parents make things so difficult. They are constantly complaining about something. We did have an end of the season slumber party last Friday night! Yes, I am crazy. We had 16 jh girls. It was crazy. They didn't go to sleep until 3!!!!! Needless to say I was exhausted, but they had a great time, so I guess it was worth it. I can't get over how jh girls like to hug! I came home and I wanted to scream please don't touch me!! But I of course couldn't do that. But I did take a 2 and 1/2 hour nap which was amazing!

Cheer leading starts now. Our 1st practice was yesterday. I don't know much about cheer leading as I was never a cheerleader, but I told my friend I would help her. I am looking forward to hopefully building up some school spirit. I feel our school is lacking in that department. Cheer leading season is a longer season, but I won't be needed as much and I am thankful for that.

I had to go to the dentist yesterday. It was not fun at all. I needed to have a root canal done. I am still in pain today. I pray that we now get the money to pay for the bill.

We have decided to put Dada on the pump. We got it in the mail on Friday and we are now waiting to go to the doc and have them train us on how to use it. It is a 2 day process so we are hoping to go when hubby is off of work. He has been working on and off lately. Hopefully the plumbing business will pick up soon. Anyway, the pump, Dada is very excited about this. We ordered her a pink 1 like she requested. I hope that she doesn't get scared off when she sees what will actually happen. I have tried to prepare her for what will happen, but knowing that she will have a needle in her stomach and seeing a needle go into her stomach are 2 different things. I did bribe her and tell her that if she got the pump then I would let her get her ears pierced. She is very excited about that.

I am going on a girls weekend this weekend and I am sooo excited!!!! My friend Tancy is running in a 5k and my other friend Beth and I are going for "moral support" during her race. We are then going shopping. Actually I am going looking since I have no money. But needless to say, I am going to have fun and relax with my friends.

overwhelmed

I am overwhelmed. Okay, there I said it. With Hunny hurt, it seems that everything has fallen on me. He can't do much of anything right now, so everything has fallen on me. I really don't think I can handle much of this. Now Brother says that his tummy hurts, all I need thrown in this is a sick kid. Boy, when it rains it pours.

The pump

Well, Dada's appointment went really well. Dada informed the doc that she wanted a pink pump. She said that she wanted to get her ears pierced and that is why she wanted to go on the pump. We did tell her that we would let her get them pierced if she went on the pump. I was only half joking and she of course jumped on it. We are waiting for the pump company to contact the insurance company. That way we will know how much we are going to have to pay. I am very curious about that. Her A1c was 7.2. So that was good. It was higher then last time, but her sugars have been more even, last time we were dealing with a lot of lows. Thankfully we are more "normal." I still wake up hoping that her diabetes will just go away though. I can hope can't I??

Hunny hurt his hand yesterday at work. That was scary, he fell off a ladder and he was trying to catch himself, and he cut his hand on this metal plate on the floor joice. He has 17 stitches in his wrist and finger. I am so thankful that it wasn't worse then that. He didn't cut any arteries. Hopefully he will be able to return to work soon.

I feel very buried in my house work. I would love a day at home to just putz about the house, getting those things done that I have been putting off. My laundry room needs a warning sign before you enter.

Well we are on our way to my sisters house for dinner. I hope it's not a late night. I still need to get some stuff done here. We have been out and about today. We took the kids to the pumpkin patch and went broke there. I can't believe how much they charge for stuff there. I refused to get a pumpkin just for the principle of it. They wanted 6-9$ for a small one. ABSURD!! That is what I say. But we had fun with the friends that we went with. It's good to make new friends.

Update

I know that it has been a while since I have written. I have been extremely busy!! It has been a good kind of busy though. Regardless, I have missed blogging, so here goes.

I have been getting up every week day at 5 to excercise and am finally seeing some results. I am done 3 #'s! I know that doesn't seem like a lot, but I am thankful for that. Just seeing a drop was encouraging to me.

"Dada" (formerly known as DD) and "Brother" (fomerly known as DS) have adjusted well to school. Dada has had a few rough glitches adjusting to the rules of 1st grade, but she is now doing very well. When I go to check her sugar in the afternoon, she asks if she has to leave yet. I tell her no, and she is very happy about that. The other day I asked her who she liked better as a teacher and she said her new teacher, b/c she gets to stay all day. Brother, loves school also. I am so glad that I waited a year to put him in. Thank you Tancy for putting up with him last year while I worked. Brothers teacher has commented to me several times about how good he is and how well he is doing. He is the oldest boy in the class and I think that is good for him. He has made a couple new friends and overall just seems very happy. For that I am very thankful.

Dada's sugar has been ok lately. We are off to the doc today to talk about the insulin pump. I have only heard how expensive it is. But I think that she would benefit from it. She is very sick of getting so many shots during the day. Last time we were at the doc, they changed her long lasting insulin to twice a day. That means she gets 2 shots of it during the day and she didn't like that. She is averaging 6-8 shots a day now. That is a lot for a little girl. So I pray that today goes well.

My mom is going with us to the doc. We go to UW in Madison. So it will be nice to spend some time with her. We are planning at stopping by Maranantha on the way home. There is a volleyball tournament there and our Varsity girls are playing. I want to go and cheer them on. Hopefully we will make it.

DH has been layed off for the past week and a half. He thankfully went back to work yesterday. He seems to really like his company. He just has to work about an hour away, so that stinks. He has to get up very early. Last night we were all in bed at 8:30!!!! I told him that we were to young for that! But we were both really tired, and we both have been fighting off a cold. So sleep is probably what we needed!

Anyway, enough from me today. Here are a few random picts!!

a new challenge

You are now looking at the new coach of the jh volleyball team. WOW!!! That just sort of landed in my lap!! But I am looking forward to it very much. I had my 1st practice this morning. I think with a little (ok, a lot of help) we will have a good year.

School

Well yesterday was our 1st day of school. The morning went pretty well, but I need to get up earlier. So this morning I was up at 5. The kids both did so well! DS's teacher said that he did AWESOME!!! His coloring was good and she said that he just did really well. She was impressed. I told him that I was so proud of him, and he told me that he wanted to be good every day! I told him that is what I wanted to hear.

I went to check on DD before I left ( I leave at 12:45-she doesn't get done till 3) and she asked if she had to leave yet. She looked like she was going to cry. I told her no, she gets to stay, and she happily went on her way to class. I wonder how long that is going to last!!

We are having trouble getting the kids to bed. Yesterday, they both fell asleep at 5 and slept till 6. So they of course didn't go to sleep till about 10. 6:30 comes early for them. I want them to not take a nap and go down at 7. That is what we did last year, and it worked very well. I just hope that we can get on this schedule a little easier then it has been going.

I am in the kindergarten class this year. That is a change. I think I am going to like it. My class went pretty well. There are 20 kids in it, and they are all REALLY talkative. So that is going to be a challenge. As the aid in the class, I don't really know what the teacher wants me to do. I don't know when she wants me to step in with discipline and when she wants to do it. So I just need to feel that out.

Well, time is a wasting, so I better get going. Have a great day everyone!

A new housemate

Well I know that it has been a while since I have written, but honestly there has not been much going on. I mean really how many times can I make.....hey, I did laundry, and dishes, and vacuuming sound interesting??? Exactly my point.

But now I do have some news. There is a girl at our school that is going to be graduating this year and her parents had to move. She really wanted to finish her senior year at school. So we offered to let her stay at our house. She will be here on Friday. I am actually looking forward to it. I know what it is like to have to switch schools my senior year and it really stinks! I wanted to offer her our house at the end of last year, but I didn't want to speak out of turn. The Lord kept impressing on my heart to let her stay and so finally I offered. Now I have some cleaning to do!!

Other then that, not much else is going on. DS is now in a big boy bed. We finally got him a twin size bed. He of course fell out of it the 1st night, but I moved it against the wall, and last night he slept much better.
