Happy 9th Birthday!!

Dada's bday party finally arrived! And celebrate we did! I am actually sitting here right now enjoying the quiet! Something I haven't gotten a whole lot of in the past 24 hours!!

Aaron and Lorrie were kind enough to let us ship Brother off to their house during the slumber party. He kept asking me where he was going. I think he did NOT want to be around with a bunch of girls, so I am thankful that he was able to spend some time with Gus.

We had 5 girls stay with us. 6 rowdy, hyper, happy girls.

While they were running around....I mean playing, the movie Ice Princess was on. Needless to say by the end of the day they were doing triple sow cows and double lutzes.

They were very hard to get to actual sleep.

Even though I was exhausted, I really tried to enjoy there giggling and "whispers."

But by 1 I was ready for bed! ;) Thankfully Hunny just had to tell them once to settle down, and I didn't hear much else from them!!

Morning came and some of the girls BEGGED me for coffee!! I couldn't believe it. But I let them. Sorry Moms!! :)

Daddy entertained the girls during lunch. Kids are so drawn to him!!

Then we went swimming! The part they were most looking forward to!!

I love this picture of DADA.

The girls found another frog.

I like the girls faces in this next picture as the frog was trying to jump out of the bucket!!

I think I have bragging rights.....Kayla told me I was her favorite Aunt, and I didn't have to bribe her with cake like I have to with Eli!! ;)

My 9 year old!! I can't believe it.....

With all the heat and humidity, the icing I made just didn't turn out tonight. But Dada didn't notice. She thought maybe it was just the candle that melted the icing. She told me she better blow the candle out quick since the icing was melting!! :)

This is also her favorite cake these days. She really likes strawberries sliced and put in the icing. It is actually really good. This is the cake that was gone tonight!

Present time!!!

Safe and secure in the arms of Grandma's!!

Tonight was a very different bday party for me. Hunny was called into work and wasn't able to be at the party. He was really missed. But I am thankful for his job and the ability to work.

I have to brag on Hunny.....while I was taking the girls swimming and when he was supposed to be resting, he picked up the house from the slumber party. He took such a load off of my shoulders and made my evening so much smoother! He is so good to me!!

I hope Dada had a great bday. She is so special to us and we couldn't be more proud of her.

Tooth #6

Brother has been working on losing another tooth for what seems like all summer. The new tooth is coming in behind the old one so it really wasn't helping all that much to move it out of his mouth.

But he was determined to pull it out.

And he did!!

He was so happy when it came out!!

But I am so sad to announce that the tooth fairy forgot to pay him a visit!!! Just sayin!!

Psalm 119:9-12

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word.
With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
They word have I hid in my heard, that I might not sin against thee.
Blessed art thou, O Lord: teach me thy statutes.

I was meditating on these verses tonight and I was struck with the depth of them. I feel like I need a fresh start with some things. And God's path is so clear here on how to do it. He says to just heed his word. Do what he says.

But sometimes I think that we make it so difficult for ourselves. We put so many restrictions on our life, or sometimes man puts them there for us. Well....she didn't walk an aisle today, she must not be right with God. Enough.

With my whole heart have I sought thee:

Have I sought God with WhOlE HeArT? Really, with my whole heart? I want to.

O let me not wander from his commandments.

O keep me always in your fellowship Lord.

Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.

God's word. Not man's word. Not man's ideas. Not who man idolizes. I mean...really? Not man's political views. Enough with the politics in church. Enough with Fox News. Seriously....enough.

Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin.

Blessed art thou O Lord: teach me thy statutes.

My hearts desire is to know God. To seek God with my WhOlE HeArT.

Keep me so tuned to you that I tune out all else.

Psalm 119:17-18

Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.
Open though mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

Lord, Open my heart and my eyes to see the beauty of your word.

Dada

9 yrs ago today I became a Mother to the most beautiful little girl ever.

I have often wished that I had cherished more those moments when my children were babies. They grow up so fast. 9 years just seems like yesterday.

She is so much like her Daddy in looks, but like her Mom in her attitude and personality. (which may not always be a good thing!! )

(sorry these 2 pictures are so blurry, I didn't have a digital camera "back then" so I took a picture of a picture. Poor quality!!)

Today she is at her Aunts house. Janelle wanted the girl cousins for a couple days this week. This is 1 of the last weekends she is able to have them before school starts. It just so happens that it fell on her bday.

I am very sad to not have spent the day with her. I have been a tad bit emotional all day today.

But Dada got the choice of what she wanted to do. And who would give up an opportunity to be spoiled by their Aunt and spend the week with her cousins?

Janelle took them horseback riding which is something Dada has wanted to do for a long time. She was so very excited about it.

She also wanted to go swimming in Janelle's pool.

When she told me that she would be going to Janelle's she told me that she could just have her party next week. That way she can do 2 fun things.

So next week is her bday slumber party. She will have a few friends over, they will stay up way to late, eat to much cake and giggle till their sides hurt.

But tonight I will remember what a joy she has been in our life. And how I couldn't imagine having another daughter. She is what I always dreamt about.

It has hit me in a weird kinda way how much children are truly a gift from God.

The past couple days have been spent babysitting these precious little girls. I haven't really been
around a baby for an extended period of time for quite a while and I think it took me a minute to remember it all! I kept thinking....how did I use to do it all?

By the end of the 1st day I was EXHAUSTED!!!

Thankfully the 2nd day went a little better. Both the girls took a good nap, so hopefully they were better for Mom as well. :)

Dada for 1 couldn't WaIt for them to come over....she said...it's like I have 2 sisters! I think she really liked having them here but I think she got what having a little sister would be like. The 3 yr old followed Dada EvErYwHeRe!!! :)

Dada couldn't get enough of the Baby. She begged to do everything. She even wanted me to teach her how to change the Babies Diapers. She was such a big help!

I even think that Brother thought it was fun having the girls around. He asked a couple times to hold the baby. :) And if the girls were sleeping he would ask every now and then when they would wake up.

After 2 long days babysitting, let's just say I was in bed at 9 last night!! I was plum tuckered out.

When I talked to Honey later that night, he said....so you gave the Baby back huh? I said, yep I gave her back. :(
